Our History
Adam Chudzinski emigrated to Canada from Poland in 1996. He worked in Vancouver with the top, reputable granite companies. Instantly, Adam was mesmerized by the beauty and colours of natural stone. With the help of professional mentors, he was able to develop his craftsmanship and expertise. Adam's passion for granite and acquired skill set, let him comfortably create his own business in 2005. For the next four years, Adam operated in Surrey, B.C., and in 2009, he relocated his business to Victoria. Adam is successfully running Mega Stone to this day with care and quality put into each job.
I'm sure there are many good "granite guys" on the Saanich Peninsula, because I have seen a lot of nice counters. What you don't see though, are counters that “pop” and serve as the showpiece of an entire kitchen. People who do this quality of work with huge (mega) pieces of rock are "artists". As far as I’m concerned, Adam is Victoria’s "rock star" (pun intended). I'm old enough to remember the obvious pride that was so common decades ago, when “true craftsmen” talked about and showed off their work when they competed projects. Adam is one of those guys. “Old school”, I suppose - and the way his values show up in the way he does his work is obvious and welcome.
I had a LOT of granite installed in a major reno, and it would have been infinitely more stressful, I'm sure, if Adam hadn't been my "granite guy". His technical skills are second to none. He is meticulous in every detail. I can say that he went WAY above and beyond at several junctures in my project to ensure that I ended up with an end-result that has more wow factor than I could have hoped for. It's easy to tell that this guy loves his work, is passionate about doing it to perfection, and knows that his reputation is growing quickly as a "master" - mainly because of the way he pays attention to detail (e.g. matching grains in slabs when multiple slabs are used, minimizing the need for seams, and in selecting high grade product. It’s easy to tell that my countertops didn't come from one of the big box production lines.
Overall, I can't say enough about Mega Stone, and about Adam. He delivered on time, and on budget. His prices were competitive with the big stores, but none of them can even come close to the personal attention, focus on detail, and desire to create a piece of "art" that you'll get from him. I've told him that if he ever wants to connect people with me for a reference, or even to show what he did in my home, I'd be glad to do it. For me at least, it's rare to want to get behind someone and cheerlead for their continued business success and growth. In the case of Mega Stone generally, and Adam specifically, I can say I am a huge fan! On any other project that I might do in future, there will no "shopping" for a stone company. There's no need to look anywhere else. I'm so grateful that my contractor recommended him.
